Pamela Shepherd – CHSC

Shepherd is Atlanta based and has had more than twenty years experience in the meeting/hospitality/sales arenas. She is currently President of Meeting Resources Inc., a full-service meeting resource company specializing in hotel representation and destination marketing. Her primary role at the present is for the Aruba Convention Bureau as Regional Director of Sales for the Southeast and Southwest USA.

This travel industry professional has lent her creativity, resourcefulness, and insight to developing
memorable events and building lasting partnerships. Her passion, experience, and ability to get things
done are keys to the success of her company, employers and industry peers.

Her clients includes many Fortune 100 corporations, third party planners, association executives and
incentive professionals around the globe who have benefited from her customer service, tireless work
ethic and her industry knowledge and relationships.

Prior to opening her own company, Shepherd served as Director of Southeast Sales for a four-state
territory with the LA Convention & Visitors Bureau. Prior to that she was Director of National Sales for
Sentry Hospitality, also based in Atlanta, where she developed and implemented sales strategies for six
resort conference centers.

Shepherd has varied hotel-specific experience including two years as National Sales Manager for Omni
Hotel Company, five years with Amway Hotel Corp. as Nationals Sales Manager for Amway Grand Plaza
Hotel and Director of Sales for Peter Island Resort & Yacht Harbour in the British Virgin Islands. She
was President of Distinctive Destinations, Inc., an international resort representation firm, for three years.

Among many prestigious industry certifications, licenses, associations and affiliations, Shepherd
is currently serving a three year board term with the Site Southeast Chapter and has also served the
Professional Convention Management Association (PCMA) SE since 2002 and was the President of
that organization. She is also the Immediate Past President ( a two year term) for the Georgia Chapter of
Hospitality Sales & Marketing Association (HSMAI-GA). She has been an active member and leader in
the Georgia Meeting Professionals International (GaMPI) organization since 1997 ( MPI since 1988) and
served as the chapter’s Board Vice President of Membership for two years as well as a board member for
the Michigan Chapter for one year.

She was nominated twice for PCMA’s “Outstanding Service to a Chapter” in 2003 and 2004 and she
was named PCMA Southeast Chapter’s “Member of the Decade” in 2008. GaMPI awarded Ms.
Shepherd “Supplier of the Year” in 2000, “Special Project of the Year” Chair in 2004 and “Sponsor of the
Year” in 2009.

She is a graduate of the University of Illinois with a BS in Advertising.
